It is indeed my privilege to recommend Lamar Slay and his company, Partners in Church Consulting, to you. He has been a valuable asset to our church as we have been in our relocation project. Lamar brings a lot more to the table other than someone who is leading your church in a capital campaign. He has been a great source of information and ideas as we had to chose a contractor, go through the design process, strategize presentations to the church, work with lenders, and many other things.

When my pastor and I were considering doing a capital campaign, our church's first, we really believed that we could raise as much money as anyone we could pay to do it. I shared this thought with a ministry friend of mine, and he suggested we contact Lamar as his approach was different than most companies doing this work. My friend was right. Both my pastor and I liked Lamar immediately and his approach to assisting a church in a capital campaign. The fact that he was going to "coach" us through the campaign versus someone who was going to lead our church through a campaign, was a great fit to our personalities as well as that of our church.

One of the things that really impressed me with Lamar is that he has actually been "in the trenches" of ministry. His experience in church work has proven to be a valuable asset as well. He has been able to help us understand and implement some things in our ministries that we needed to change, as well as bringing new ideas to us for us to implement.

Lamar's three year commitment to our church is a real plus as well. One of things that I kept hearing from other churches who had done capital campaigns was the lack of follow-up after the big push for the campaign. Lamar has already proven to us that he is with us for the term of our campaign, working behind the scenes, coaching us as to effective follow-up procedures with our people.

In conclusion, if you are thinking of doing a capital campaign or making significant changes in your church's philosophy of ministry, you need to give Lamar a call. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

With the rapid growth of our church and the opening of a new 1500 seat worship center, we knew we needed to make sure our guest services were excellent. Working with Lamar helped us prepare to make sure every person who came to our church felt welcomed and had their needs met. Lamar helped us design a guest services ministry from the ground up. We were able to recruit and train over 700 new volunteers to serve as parkers, greeters, ushers and security. Lamar worked closely with our leadership throughout the process and helped us think through many policies and procedures that would have otherwise taken years to develop. Lamar continues to be available to us for questions, problem solving and new ideas. Because of Lamar's experience and servant's heart, we are able to ensure that no matter how large our church becomes, we still have that warm friendly church feel.

As a church holding its first capital campaign, we knew it was crucial that we did things right as it would set the pace for future campaigns. Lamar Slay was constantly accessible for any question that arose, and he helped us design a campaign that fit our unique needs as a young church. His knowledge and experience were invaluable.

Lamar walked me through my first Capital Campaign as a Senior Pastor. His leadership was invaluable to me as I led my church through this process. He possesses a unique gift of tailoring a campaign to meet the needs of each church he works with I count Lamar as a trusted advisor.

I worked with Lamar Slay during Maryland Community Church 's Stewardship Campaign that started in January of 2004. Lamar brought a wealth of personal experience to the table, not only in fundraising but also in overall church leadership. He provided MCC with creative resources and tips to help us along the way. But what impressed me the most was his concern for the spiritual health of all of our 1500 attendees and for the long-term effects of the campaign.

In the 38 year history of Sagemont Church in Houston, TX, we have built over 20 million dollars worth of buildings and have paid cash for each project. This has been accomplished by teaching God's people His principles of giving. Each time, He has lowered the resources to us to build the vision he has set before us. It is on these principles that Lamar Slay has founded PCC and I highly recommend this proven approach to you and your church.
